As part of the construction of the NEW Mary C. Jenkins Community Center and the renovation of nearby streets, a portion of Mills Ave. has been closed to through traffic in accordance with the permit and permission of the City of Brevard.
Additionally, around June, there will be a new extension of Hillview St. connecting directly to Carver St./Cashiers Valley. Once completed, the current Mills Ave. cut to Carver St. will be unneeded, closed, and combined into the new parking area for Mary C. Jenkins Community Center.
These closures are necessary safety precautions while we upgrade Mills Ave. and Hillview Street sidewalks, parking, and utilities, to support the center. We expect completion and reopening on or before July 22, 2022.
